pelicans, lonesome george and more

This bottom photo is of the famous lonesome George. He is the last Turtle of his kind. They are trying to breed him with hybrid turtles from Pinta Island but to date it hasn't worked. He is much bigger than me. We saw him at the Darwin research center.
Food is interesting and expensive here. so far we like fish best and so do the seals and pelicans as you can tell. They hang out at the peir the fisherman come into every night. The seals fur is very smooth.

  1. Dear Treva,
I like your pictures. Did you have any problems where you are at from the earthquake in Haiti? My mom says we can look at a map to see where you are in comparison to Haiti. We miss you, but we are glad you are getting to see and do so many things. It is cold and snowy here. School has been ok, but I wish you were here to play with me. I get to look at your site a couple times a week and I am always glad to see the new stuff you are seeing.

  4. HI Treava!
Kyaran, Payton and I check your blog every day. We love it! Keep up the good work.
    The pictures are wonderful, too.
Payton keeps telling me she misses you like crazy. I miss you, too!
Tomorrow after school, we are going hiking in the desert. It's neat to compare the different kinds of country we both are visiting.
Hope you continue to have a great time!
One question- what is the average temperature during the day there? It would be neat for us to compare temps, as K and P are recording the daytime temperature every day while we are here.

    Thanks Treava!
Please tell everyone HI from us!
    Tammy
